Shiloh Names James f. keys as
senior vice president
CLEVELAND, May 23, 2002 -- Shiloh Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:
SHLO - news) Theodore K. Zampetis, President and CEO, announced today the
appointment of James F. Keys to the position of Senior Vice President in charge
of Advanced Technology and Sales and Marketing. In addition, the Program
Management and Information Technology functions will report to Jim.
“Jim Keys is a 30-year veteran in the automotive industry and has served with me
at Standard Products all of his adult life, with an exceptional record of
success,” Ted Zampetis said. “I am truly pleased to have Jim serve with our team
at Shiloh. His hands-on leadership style and his outstanding technical and
managerial expertise will contribute greatly to the execution of our business
optimization strategy.”
Jim’s career started in 1971 at Standard Products, a leading automotive supplier
with 41 facilities worldwide. After completing a tool and die apprenticeship
program, he was promoted to several engineering positions at several plants and
in 1985 he was promoted to Division Manager in a Greenfield Plant in North
Carolina. After two successful years in that position, Jim was transferred to
Japan for two years as the top Technical Liaison between Standard and their
Japanese partner. Upon his return from Japan, Jim was promoted to Division
Manager, Corporate Product Development, in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1991 Jim was
appointed Managing Director of Standard Products – United Kingdom. In 1993 he
was elected to Corporate Vice President, and in 1996 to Executive Vice President
International Operations. Early in 1999 he was appointed Executive Vice
President of Research and Advanced Technology – Worldwide. In late 1999 Standard
Products Company was merged into Cooper Tire Company and Jim chose to take early
retirement.
Jim has been granted 29 U.S. Patents. He is a graduate of Terra Technical
College (Ohio) with an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has
attended numerous personal and business development programs in the U.S., Europe
and Japan. Jim, his wife Jane and their three children live in Northville,
Michigan. “With the appointment of Jim Keys as head of our Detroit-based
Customer Service Organization, we are solidifying our top management team,” Ted
Zampetis said.
John Walker will continue as Vice President and General Manager of Canton
Manufacturing Division, will continue overseeing the estimating process and
assist as needed both Jim Keys and Ted Zampetis in the coordination and
execution of the strategic priorities of the Company.
