As a leading independent manufacturer of advanced metal product solutions for high volume applications in North America, Shiloh strives for operational excellence throughout all areas of the organization. The Company's robust product, process, and upfront analysis offerings reiterate the focus on and commitment to vertical integration, providing Shiloh with an unrivaled competitive advantage.
In order to effectively complete analyses during the advanced product and process development stages, Shiloh utilizes robust software packages and maintains systems including the following: 3D CAD Design and Modeling using Catia V4 and V5; IDEAS 10, 11, and NXi5; and Unigraphics NX.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software and analyses used by Shiloh include: Hyperworks, Modal Analysis, Linear Static Stress Analysis, and Non-Linear Stress Analysis.
Additional software utilized by Shiloh's Advanced Engineering group includes OptiStruct for Design Optimization, HyperForm and Pam-Stamp for Forming Simulation Analysis, White Light Scanning, and Photogrammetry.
Shiloh’s precision blanks (both light and heavy gauge), which are two dimensional shapes cut from flat-rolled metal, are principally sold to automotive and truck OEM's and are used for exterior components, such as fenders, hoods, and doors. These blanks include first operation exposed and unexposed blanks, as well as more advanced Engineered Welded Blanks (EWB's). EWB's generally consist of two or more sheets of metal of the same or different material grade, thickness, or coating that are welded together utilizing mash seam resistance or laser welding.
Shiloh’s highly engineered stampings and complex modular assemblies include components used in the structural and powertrain systems of a vehicle. Structural systems include body-in-white applications and underbody modules. Powertrain systems consist of deep draw components, such as engine oil pans, transmission pans, valve covers, and heat shields. Additionally, the Company provides a variety of intermediate metal processing services, such as oiling, leveling, cutting-to-length, slitting, edge trimming of hot and cold-rolled steel coils, and inventory control services for automotive and other industrial customers.
